Protecting Our Planet
Protecting Our Planet programs are designed to give your students a more in depth and hands-on learning experience to better understand the conservation issues facing wildlife today. Each program includes three visits at your school by a Zoo Educator and one field trip to the Zoo spread out over several weeks or months. Programs are available for students K-12th grade and will be tailored to the age and needs of your group.
Student Conservation Programs
Saving Wildlife Through Mascots
Are your students the "Fighting Jaguars"? Do they have "Eagle Pride"? Your students can harness their school spirit into helping save animals through a hands-on conservation project. This program matches your students with local and international organizations working to protect and save your school mascot in the wild. Your Zoo visit will include a special keeper talk and/or behind the scenes tour.
Join the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens to help save pollinators! Students will be learning about the importance of pollinators and creating their own school yard pollination garden with the help of Zoo staff. Your Zoo visit will include a guided garden tour.
Program fees cover the cost of three in-school visits by a Zoo Educator followed by a visit to the Zoo.
Students: $30 each (includes Zoo admission)
Adults: 1 adult FREE per every 10 students for Zoo visit
Additional adults pay general Zoo admission
